"...The APWU implores you once again: Do not participate in the 2019 Postal Pulse Survey. You are probably being flooded with emails, postcards to your home, stand-up talks, posters on time clocks, and other tactics to try to get you to take the survey.
So, what has the Postal Service done in the last year? Have things improved since the survey was first put out and found that the USPS ranked low in every category? The reality is, the steps the Postal Service took to make the workplace “more engaging” are meaningless. You still have difficult supervisors and you are having more demanded of you, putting your health and safety at risk. Staff is being reduced, people are being excessed and morale is being decimated.
And now, in 2019, the survey is being pushed immediately before the APWU will begin interest arbitration with the Postal Service to establish a contract. There is more than a good chance that the results of this survey will be utilized, as has been done previously, in interest arbitration against you.
The Postal Pulse and any initiatives to get you to participate are not in your best interest..."

"...The FedEx company is offering U.S. employees four weeks of pay for every year worked as part of a cost-cutting initiative announced in December..."
This Article is From: www.bloomberg.com
This above article is a good example of a FedEx voluntary buyout vs. a Postal Service buyout (VSIP) based on the cash pay-out incentive alone. FedEx is offering four weeks of pay for every year worked [Example: based on $60,000/year base at 40 years] would equate to approximately $90,000 versus a USPS VSIP that is limited $25,000. Our example is based on a 26 pay period year. Please note, that in all fairness, other factors must be considered in addition to the cash offering. For example, we do not know the details relating to continuance of pension, health insurance coverage, wage comparisons, life insurance, pension COLA's, dental insurance, and how the incentive will be distributed. The Postal Service is known for offering "craft employees" less than the $25,000 limited by law and then splitting up that tiny payment over two pay-outs over a timed period. - Postal Newsgroup

Did you realize as a postal worker you will pay more in retirement for your FEHB health insurance than you do now? As a postal worker, your unions have negotiated a lower cost for your share of the FEHB premium, but when you retire you pay what other federal employees do in retirement. Reg Jones over at FEDweek gives the best explanation I have found. He explains it in a very informative article entitled, 'Health Insurance in Retirement'.
