Postal worker killed on the job by...

"...The physical damage is small in comparison to the immense heartbreak felt by neighbors as they mourn the loss of someone they considered a friend.

“I called him and I sent him a text message and I said, ‘Hey, man. Are you OK?’ And I didn’t get no response. I tried calling him. No answer,” one neighborhood resident said. ...fleeing the scene of a separate minor crash up the road.

“As he was fleeing, he was going at a high rate of speed, lost control and he struck the rear of the postal truck that was delivering mail at the residences here on the southbound side of Antoine Drive,” the sergeant said.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the postal vehicle, Steven Marks"

Indiana man who threw steel wheelbarrow on dying grandpa and stomped head to ‘finish him off’ convicted of murder on victim’s birthday

"An obituary said Huffman, a former employee with the United States Postal Service, was a “loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather” who “enjoyed spending time with and caring for his family.”...deliberated for just over five hours before finding Trent D. Kreegar guilty on one count of murder and one count of aggravated battery in the horrific Sept. 5, 2021 death of Robert Earl Huffman Jr., prosecutors announced. The date of Kreegar’s conviction also happened to be the day that his grandfather would have turned 69. ..."

Postal worker, nearing retirement, dies in record-setting CA heat

"...A dedicated employee with 28 years of service, and close to retirement, Peggy Frank had just returned to work from medical leave...Tragedy struck Friday, her first day of work in months after suffering a broken ankle, according to family. The 63-year-old was found unresponsive in her mail delivery truck as temperatures topped more than 115 degrees"

Remembering President Emeritus William Burrus

Post Office Key may help identify body
