Lawmakers press Postal Service on Trenton's man's death in mail-handling machine

Debbie Dingell of Ann Arbor and Rashida Tlaib of Detroit wrote to Postmaster General David Steiner on Thursday with questions about why it took employees six to eight hours to discover the 36-year-old's body, when management first realized he was missing and what was done to locate him. ..."

Postal worker killed on the job by...

"...The physical damage is small in comparison to the immense heartbreak felt by neighbors as they mourn the loss of someone they considered a friend.

“I called him and I sent him a text message and I said, ‘Hey, man. Are you OK?’ And I didn’t get no response. I tried calling him. No answer,” one neighborhood resident said. ...fleeing the scene of a separate minor crash up the road.

“As he was fleeing, he was going at a high rate of speed, lost control and he struck the rear of the postal truck that was delivering mail at the residences here on the southbound side of Antoine Drive,” the sergeant said.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the postal vehicle, Steven Marks"

Newberry County USPS worker attacked on the job

"...as she was heading back to the mail truck, two dogs came upon her, and one of them attacked her," Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster said.

According to Foster, she tried to get back into her delivery truck but the dog kept attacking her. She eventually got back into her truck, locked the door, and called 9-1-1.

When deputies got to the scene, two dogs, a Pitbull and a Labrador-mix, had to be moved before starting first aid. ..."

Reward climbs to $250K in 2009 Alabama postal driver’s murder case

"...MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Sixteen years have passed since a central Alabama postal worker was shot to death. His killer remains unknown to this day. Postal highway contract driver Tony W. Harrelson was killed at the Camp Hill Post Office on Oct 2, 2009. The Dadeville man’s body was discovered around 6:15 p.m. that evening after an apparent robbery. ...A possible clue to the investigation involves other post office branches. Since the beginning of the investigation, the U.S. Postal Service has believed a robbery prior to Harrelson’s murder at the Troy Post Office, as well as a robbery at the Hope Hull Post Office shortly after his death, could be related. ..."

I’m petrified: USPS employee speaks out after violent attack

(WROC) — While the job of a postal worker may seem peaceful to the average resident, it’s actually had the opposite effect recently, with a string of violent attacks on postal workers, leaving some employees scared to return to work. ...On Thursday, one USPS employee was randomly attacked by a woman he did not know, according to Rochester Police. The assailant claimed she needed to give him mail, then quickly became aggravated, demanding he return the mail to her.

She continued to follow and shout at him until she attempted to attack him with a glass bottle, and then a kitchen knife. ..."
