Postal traffic to U.S. plunges 70% for a full 5 weeks after end of ‘de minimis’ exemption

"...Confusion has reigned since the U.S. ended the tariff exemption for packages worth less than $800 on Aug. 29. In September, the Universal Postal Union reported 88 of its 192 member countries had suspended all or some of its postal services to the U.S. to have time to adjust their shipping procedures.

On Friday, the UPU said “only a handful” of those had resumed operations to the U.S. ..."

Postal Service Tracks Threatening Letter Sent to Home of Benny Johnson (Conservative Journalist)

Harrelson was killed at the Camp Hill Post Office on Oct 2, 2009. Since the beginning of the investigation, the U.S. Postal Service has believed a robbery prior to Harrelson’s murder at the Troy Post Office, as well as a robbery at the Hope Hull Post Office shortly after his death, could be related. ..."

USPS to temporarily increase prices for 2025 holiday season. Here's what to know

"...Shipping gifts may will cost you more this holiday season. ...The United States Postal Service will temporarily hike prices for some services during the 2025 holiday season.

Starting Sunday, Oct. 5, price increases for Priority Mail Express (PME), Priority Mail (PM), USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select will go into effect. The price change, announced in August, comes as the mailing agency looks to "cover extra handling costs" to ensure a successful holiday season

Scammers are defrauding USPS of revenue

Census Bureau to test using postal workers as census takers in 2030 field trials next year

"...The statistical agency said Friday in a notice to be published next week that it will test and assess the feasibility of using postal carriers to knock on doors and collect information about households for the once-a-decade head count of every U.S. resident.

The field tests will be conducted next year in western Texas; tribal lands in Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado; western North Carolina; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Huntsville, Alabama. The unpublished Federal Register notice didn’t say which locations would test postal workers as census-takers who interview people about the race, sex, age, type of housing and relationships in their households.

I’m petrified: USPS employee speaks out after violent attack

"ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — While the job of a postal worker may seem peaceful to the average resident, it’s actually had the opposite effect recently, with a string of violent attacks on postal workers, leaving some employees scared to return to work. ...On Thursday, one USPS employee was randomly attacked by a woman he did not know, according to Rochester Police. The assailant claimed she needed to give him mail, then quickly became aggravated, demanding he return the mail to her.

She continued to follow and shout at him until she attempted to attack him with a glass bottle, and then a kitchen knife. ..."

Canada Post union launches strike as Ottawa moves to curb door-to-door mail

Alabama man sentenced for fentanyl conspiracy, shipments from California
