Man accused of shooting FedEx employee released without bond

"...MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man accused of shooting a FedEx employee in the hub parking lot in October has been released without bond.

18-year-old Tyreese Earnest was charged with attempted second-degree murder, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and vandalism. 2800 block of Democrat Road. Memphis Police say...Earnest was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to be back in court on November 26."

US postal workers outraged after poverty contract announced for city letter carriers

"After nearly two years of talks, the union for city letter carriers announced a poverty-level tentative agreement ...According to a summary by National Association of Letter Carriers, the 42-month deal (2023 through 2026) contains pathetic 1.3 percent annual wage increases...After record-high inflation and other recent agreements for autoworkers, UPS and east coast dockworkers which all contained modest wage increases between 20 and 61 percent. Even these deals were sellouts, where wage increases acted as cover for mass, automation-driven job cuts. Under this contract, however, workers will get both a near-wage freeze and massive job cuts. In fact, rural carriers covered under a separate contract are being systematically cheated out of "

APWU | Updates to USPS Eagle Clean (e4776) Pilot Program in the Maintenance Craft

"...As reported during the recent Maintenance Division Conference in Detroit, MI and the previous Conference in National Harbor, MD, the Postal Service notified the APWU of its intent to pilot the Eagle Clean (e4776) program on May 30, 2023. The Postal Service’s reasoning behind the pilot program was to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of completing and submitting the PS Form 4776 using a Mobile Delivery Device scanner (MDD). Custodians would utilize the MDD scanner daily to record the time spent working on various custodial tasks. Once completed, the data would be reviewed by the supervisor and uploaded to be stored on the Retail and Delivery Application Recording platform (RADAR). The pilot program officially began on July 1, 2023, in five facilities in Maryland, and expanded shortly thereafter to facilities in Lexington, KY and Tampa, FL..."
