USPS celebrates sea turtles with new stamps

Protect Sea Turtles stamps
"The Postal Service dedicated its Protect Sea Turtles stamps on June 11 at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. ...'Sea turtles are majestic creatures who play an important role in marine ecosystems,' said Texas 2 District Manager David Camp, who spoke at the event. ...The stamps feature the six species that forage in U.S. waters or nest on American beaches: loggerhead, leatherback, hawksbill, Kemp’s ridley, olive ridley and green sea turtles. Derry Noyes, an art director for USPS, designed the pane of 18 stamps using existing photographs. The stamps are available at Post Offices and usps.com."

Beware of Fake USPS Text Messages

"...If you have received a peculiar text with an unfamiliar URL that claims to be about a delivery from the United States Postal Service (USPS) but haven’t signed up for a tracking request, be careful: It could be a scam, the postal service warned. The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) said in a press release last week, which USPS posted on X Tuesday, that this type of text is a scam called smishing—a form of phishing involving a text or phone number. D-Day's 80th Anniversary Brings World War II Veterans Back to the Beaches of Normandy

D-Day's 80th Anniversary Brings World War II Veterans Back to the Beaches of Normandy

Snippet of Article: "...80th anniversary of D-Day.

The Allied invasion, which began on June 6, 1944, led to the defeat of the Nazis and the end of the war. The assault began with Allied aircraft bombing German defenses in Normandy, followed by around 1,200 aircraft that carried airborne troops. As dawn broke, Allied forces started bombing German coastal defenses and shortly after that vessels began putting troops ashore on five codenamed beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. By the end of the day, nearly 160,000 Allied troops had landed in Normandy, although there were thousands of casualties.

Few witnesses to history’s biggest amphibious invasion remain alive today. ..."

PMG DeJoy describes the Postal Service’s upward trajectory as a result of the Delivering for America plan

PMG DeJoy
"...“When I arrived, the trajectory was in plain sight. We were 15 years into a 25-year plan to lose close to $300 billion. And that is what today, we are working very hard to change. We have a plan, it’s called the Delivering for America plan, and we are making great progress on the strategies it identifies,” said DeJoy.

Addressing the historical difficulties encountered by the Postal Service, DeJoy traced these issues back to decisions made by the organization’s legislative and regulatory authorities prior to his tenure.

“In 2006, Congress and the Postal Regulatory Commission legislated, and began regulating, a business model that was dead on arrival. This was immediately proven,” he said. ..."
