Project Safe Delivery goes online | The Postal Inspection Service website has a new page

"...The Postal Inspection Service has added a Project Safe Delivery section to its website, highlighting the agency’s joint effort with USPS to combat mail-related crime.

The page, part of uspis.gov, debuted in mid-April. It offers background information, statistics and several success stories since the initiative’s launch last May. ..."

Lowell Joerg says he ‘likes to send history’ through the mail

"...Last year, Joerg came across a postcard that shows the Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, DC. The building once served as the Post Office Department’s headquarters, so Joerg mailed it to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

“I said to myself, ‘By golly, I think I’ll send it back to where it can be appreciated. Heritage is important,’” Joerg wrote.

DeJoy wrote back and thanked Joerg, who was surprised — and delighted. ..."

Postal Service Saviour DeJoy Doing Amazing Job!

Time magazine covers DeJoy’s turnaround efforts

"“DeJoy may be the only person on earth who could have delivered these wins for America’s beloved, beleaguered agency,” the article states, explaining how he has drawn upon his previous experience as a CEO and political fundraiser. Additionally, the article notes that some early criticisms of DeJoy proved erroneous. The 3,900-word piece is available on Time’s website, in the magazine’s March 27 print edition and on Apple News, where it appears under the headline “The Mail Man — Initially cast as a Trumpian villain, Louis DeJoy is delivering for the Postal Service, and Democrats.” The article concludes by indicating the Postal Service still has a long way to go, but DeJoy plans to keep working to turn the organization around. As he tells Time: “I don’t like to leave a job undone.”..."
