Leeds, Alabama | USPS mail carrier arrested for shoplifting at Buc-ee’s

"...While in custody for shoplifting at the store, police searched 39-year-old Amber Beard’s purse and car and found stolen merchandise, a multitude of checks, credit and debit cards, and Alabama drivers’ licenses not belonging to her, as well as U.S. mail addressed to several people in the Birmingham area.

While in custody, Beard told officers she works for USPS.

Police found that while Beard was employed as a postal worker, she opened mail not addressed to her and removed items like checks, debit and credit cards, and gift cards, and fraudulently used them. ...as well as U.S. mail addressed to several people in the Birmingham area.
