‘We’ve had several beat up badly’: Florida union leader calls for more postal worker protections amid rise in attacks

"...The daily route for America’s letter carriers has become increasingly dangerous as armed robberies targeting postal workers continue to plague the federal workforce, and their union is pushing for more protections.

“We’ve had several beat up badly,” said Al Friedman, president of the Florida Letter Carriers Association.

He also pointed out that some of these attacks are part of an organized crime ring"

Passed-out driver had post office master keys, stolen credit cards, CA cops say

"...When officers woke the man behind the wheel, they spotted lockpicking tools, credit cards and a brass key marked U.S. Post Office property, police said. A search of the Jeep also turned up a baggie of methamphetamine, stolen debit and credit cards, and hundreds of pieces of stolen mail from Hemet, Temecula, Murrieta, Winchester, Menifee, South Gate and Compton, police said.
