General RIF Notice could be issued on April 28, 2011 (USPS)

According to the USPS Organizational Changes website, if necessary, "Employees who could be impacted by a RIF in their competitive area will be advised in writing that a RIF may need to be conducted within their competitive area. The notice will provide the potential RIF effective date."

Additionally, according to the 2011 Organizational Redesign Information At-A-Glance website chart, in the event of a need for the RIF, September 9, 2011, will be the RIF effective date. "At the close of business on this date, separations as a result of the RIF process will become effective. "
