Postal Service Unions Attempt to Reduce Mailing Costs


"...Because workshare discounts are a joke, as president of the APWU, I can extend the following offer: APWU members will perform all mail sortation for .01 less than the discounted rate of 10.5 cents major mailers enjoy for performing a small portion of the process. The USPS will save money, and every APWU-represented mail processor can benefit from a modest raise. ..."

The Challenge: Postal Wages and Discounts


"...Accepting their analysis of the value of sorting and applying barcodes, the American Postal Workers Union has issued a challenge: We will accept their conclusion and we demand that the Postal Service compensate mail-processing employees accordingly. Set wages at a rate that would be slightly less expensive than the workshare discounts the USPS offers to major mailers...."
